If you were in France and were interested in studying the earth, you’re bound to be directed to the Hans Hollein’s Vulcania – a science museum dedicated to the study of geology and volcanoes. What is most interesting is the way it is designed, an underground museum and an ‘architecture parlante’ that makes the details of the planet come alive as visitors are made to set out in exploring the center of the earth.

To add to the authenticity, a lot of the walls and floors are made of the local volcanic rock and pink basalt coming from Jura in the east of France.
